High heavens wood in Booker, near High Wycombe is the local landfill site. It has been there for more than 50 years, with areas dug up, filled and replanted leaving again a wood. As I grew up within the catchment for this tip (I moved to Holmer Green up the road in 1973) it contains the refuse and waste from I would guess all of my youth. Things that I ate, played with, made and broke now lie buried under this fledgeling wood. More over, the detritus from so many people also lie underneath, to be sucked up by the trees and regenerated.
